Kids spending too long on the PC? Finding it difficult to get them to log off? Having arguments about computer time? Ration-it comes to the rescue!

Ration-it limits the amount of time your child can spend on the PC each day. You set the number of minutes per day you are happy for your child to have.

When there are just five minutes left, a warning message is shown. With just one minute left, a final warning is given. After the final minute your child will be automatically logged off by Ration-it.

As the administrator of Ration-it, you can access the password-protected configuration page where you can set the number of minutes per day and the number of minutes remaining for the current day.

More than one child? No problem

Ration-it supports multiple usernames under Windows XP, keeping track of how many minutes each user has spent on the computer. Once installed, Ration-it runs automatically for each user.

What if my child needs extra time for homework?

At any time you can access the Ration-it password-protected admin screen and add extra minutes that apply for just that day.

Will Ration-it interfere with my own use of the PC?

No - Ration-it can be enabled and disabled for individual users.

Won't my child just complain about Ration-it instead?

Not really - our experience is that children are very accepting of limits imposed by the computer. When their time is up they calmly switch to other activities - without the argument!
